Welcome to the first “episode” of Project Crochet!
January can be a dreary time of year here, so let’s mix it up and play with colour! I personally struggle with colour. I love it, but I don’t get how to use it well. I usually default to a handful of colour combinations, many of which have a base of neutral colours to tie it all together.
So, the challenge this month is to experiment with colour and make some beautiful things!
My goal is to create as many different projects as I can using the following criteria: at least four colours, none are traditional neutrals (white, black, brown, tan, or beige.)
I’m a blanket person, so my first attempt will be a blanket using green as a base colour, with yellow, orange, and purple in the mix. *Gulp!*
Remember: Experiment, push your own personal boundaries (maybe you have no trouble with colour, maybe your challenge is to make something you find interesting out of the neutral colours!), and be innovative! Let’s see how adventurous we can be! Make it work!

I think I can do this one, especially if I combine it with the 13 in 2012 CAL (make 13 hats in a year). I too tend to stick to a “safe” color combo (blues, greens, purples). I read the blog “Attic24″ and Lucy always uses such vibrant colors, so I’m going to attempt to take a page out of her playbook and go vibrant!

That’s fantastic Cindy! I can’t wait to see what you wind up with.
As for me… that purple yarn in the picture is frightening me. lol

I think I’m going to tackle the PDQ hat from SnB The Happy Hooker. And, I think I might use a bright green, a bright blue, and orange and a pink, if I have the right shades on hand. I can picture it. If I can get a lasagna in the oven, I can go up and dig through the yarn stash
And, I really like the purple you’ve chosen, but it’s the orange that throws me off. But, that’s part of the challenge, right?

I’m glad you through the purple in. I think it will be GORGEOUS.
I’m all about color, though. The more the better! I just finished a blanket with five main colors and added two more as I bordered the squares and then joined them together, lol. (photo on my blog)
I have another blanket WIP that I need to put together and it utilizes no less than five also.
Good luck on this. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with it!
