When I get an idea in my head, watch out!
I’m in the process of putting together a crafting journal; a binder I can carry around with me and jot down ideas, note what projects I’m currently working on, documenting finished items, listing gift ideas, tracking the stash, that sort of thing. Once I get it to a stage where it can be useful to me, I’ll post more here about it. Until then, the question is, what do/would you use a crafting journal for?
Today I’ve been home sick from work. I’ve mostly been resting, but one of the ideas I’m probably going to have to dedicate an entire section of my binder to was just too interesting for me to let slide, and since I’m home with very little to do, I figured I’d give it a go:

I can hear you thinking it, “You’re going to dedicate an entire section of your crafting journal to the first few rounds of Chris Simon’s Esther Square motif?”
Perhaps if I include something else in the picture to give you an idea as to scale:

Yep, definitely crazy!

I had pretty much the exact same idea! Great minds, eh? The only thing is I’m terrible at actually keeping up with diaries and journals and stuff. Maybe it’ll be my New Year’s resolution.
Also, that is so damn tiny! Wow!
Mio, your nuts! That’s TINY! I think I’d go blind trying to work on something that small!
Once upon a time I tried to keep a journal of my finished projects.. it just never worked out. I now have a binder of old project patterns however. I find that very useful. I always make notes on patterns as I’m doing them with my changes, so if I want to make it again, I can.
I don’t know much about crochet, but I know with knitting, gauge is often important – even just for the feel of the piece, if not for size – so I always keep notes about what needle size works best with what yarn, and what my gauge in stockinete is so I don’t have to do a swatch every time. Now that I’ve been knitting for awhile, I know my knitting will always come out the same. When I first started I had to swatch everytime because I was still learning what tension my hands liked the best. If I were to do a journal, I would definitely have a section for that.
