Pretty Purple

I finished the toothpaste blanket:

How many in a row is that now? I’m on fire! (I took this picture outside… it comes close to the actual colour, but it’s not quite there. I’m thinking the addition of some “sun” might help. Stupid winter.)

Because it’s usually pretty straightforward, I’ve decided to do most of my charity crafting at work (unless a personal deadline is approaching at an alarming rate), so I’ve started a new baby blanket:

The colour isn’t too far off in this one towards the bottom of the picture. (Who knew bathroom lighting could be so good?) I really love the purple in this one.

Both blankets are made with Bernat Baby Coordinates, double-stranded. The green one was two strands of “Sprite Stripes“, and the purple one is one each of “Lovely Lilac” and “Grape Stripes“. The plan is to do a border with two stands of the Lovely Lilac (the solid purple)

I made about half of the purple blanket at work today on my lunch break, and the rest at the laundromat this evening. WHY are laundromats so cold? It was madness! And I learned that crocheting faster doesn’t warm you up, it just seems to increase the wind around your hands, turning your fingers into Popsicles. Good thing I had half a blanket with me!

paying to heat a laundromat would just encourage people hang out there, and incur more expenses on the part of the owner. Plus you’d get all sorts hanging out just to keep warm.
