Brush Your Teeth

Despite the fact that I listed 7 projects that were half-finished on my half-birthday, and the fact that I have several projects on the go that weren’t pictured. Plus the purple rose blanket I intend to start on the plane to Calgary. Oh, and Dad’s blanket… Despite all of that, I’ve started a new baby blanket.

The only excuse I have for this is: the yarn is pretty! It reminds me of toothpaste! Mint toothpaste! Wait… I hate mint…

You might want to reconsider doing anything knitting or crochet related on the plane to Calgary – airport security tend to get a bit jumpy about people with pointy sticks in their hand luggage…

I had thought of that. I spent several days researching this (for those who want a quick trip to the front of the line, knitting needles and crochet hooks are listed under “penetrating objects”). Crochet hooks are allowed, but pointy scissors aren’t. I’m planning on buying some safety scissors on the way home from work tonight.

In the event that they don’t let me bring the hook on board, I have a back up plan that involves mailing to my parents whatever they won’t let me take and reading a book. (or possibly knitting with pencils… not sure what the difference in danger is between knitting needles and pencils, but one can knit with both!)
